The full name in ESI is "Employees State Insurance", it is a state insurance system in which all types of employees who are employed in different units, which have 10, 20 or more employees, have a health insurance system. ESI Act 1948 was enacted in 1948 but its work was started on 24th February, 1952 in order to provide free treatment and treatment to the registered persons and members of their families in the ESI.

Every region has ESI Dispensary or Hospital for free treatment from ESI.
